Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Louisiana is seeking passionate, responsible and dedicated individuals interested in helping children succeed and making a difference in young people's lives through the AmeriCorps national service program. As an AmeriCorps member, you will complete a service term as an enrichment instructor at one of our four Boys & Girls Clubs in the Greater New Orleans area: Covington, Gretna, New Orleans or Slidell . AmeriCorps members help make learning fun for Club members utilizing the proven Project Learn theory and will complete their hours of service by implementing programs from one of our 5 Core Program Areas, along with high-yield learning opportunities within the Boys & Girls Club Summer program.

Minimum Time AmeriCorps Members - Complete 300 hours of service (Summer 2019)

Service te rm: June 1, 2019 - July 31, 2019

Must be at least 17 years old

U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident

Attend mandatory pre-service orientation

Available Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (Summer Enrichment Hours)

Complete 300 hours of service

Living Stipend (paid biweekly)

Educational award: $1,222.22 after completing term of service

AmeriCorps Member Duties : Boys & Girls Club AmeriCorps members provide guidance and mentoring to youth and participate in enrichment activities. Assist in monitoring and evaluating academic performance of youth. Actively participate in community development through monthly community outreach service hours. Complete necessary service hours as specified by service term calendar. Actively participate in Boys & Girls Club organized community service projects and recommended community service events.
