April is the Month of the Military Child

Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Louisiana is offering free membership and summer camps to children of families in the military. Nearly 2 million children have a parent in the military, many of whom cope with a mother or father who is deployed. Military-connected youth also move an average of six to nine times before they graduate from high school, with some living in civilian communities away from medical, academic and social resources found on military installations.

Boys & Girls Club's long-standing partnership with the U.S. Armed Services has allowed us to provide quality programs that have supported millions of military-connected youth.

Together, we serve some 458,000 youth on 490 military installations worldwide, as well as 22,000 more at traditional Boys & Girls Clubs.

This April, let's show our appreciation for military-connected youth and the sacrifices they make for our country by wearing purple on April 3, 2017.
