Chevron, American Heart Association Volunteers Plant Teaching Garden at Covington Boys & Girls Club
October 25, 2017
Chevron and the American Heart Association teamed up during the HumanKind Campaign to assist Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Louisiana’s Covington Club through the installation of a Fall Teaching Garden on Thursday, Oct. 5, at the Covington Club, 919 N. Columbia St.
Volunteers interacted with local children and helped them construct planters and plant crops. The event was a part of the Covington Clubhouse’s implementation of Chevron and American Heart Association’s Teaching Garden Program.
The initiative was recently recognized by the Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Louisiana’s area council as Program of the Year in the healthy lifestyles category.
During October, Chevron employees are volunteering at a number of community service events in support of local nonprofits including the Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Louisiana, and Chevron reps said they are committed to contributing to the communities in which it works financially and through volunteer programs like the HumanKind Campaign.
